It is one of those places tourists must go and take pictures. It does look a lot nicer than last time I was here. It must has something to do with the change of name.
I’m a local here. Visit it for the first time you think it’s great. After seeing it for a few times I noticed they really don’t keep up on the building.
Cast, crew, and press screening... seeing great actors in person, great picture and sound quality, free popcorn and soda, what review could I give but five stars. The theater is amazing. The bathroom is unique. Hollywood and Highland seems like the best place to park, some of the others gouge you.
Beautiful, classic theater. Unfortunately the projectionists are morons. Sound system was easily hitting 120 dB. People plugging ears, children scared and crying. Not kidding. I had to run up to the office and scream at them. They turned it down. Still too loud, but bearable. $20 for a matinee ticket, experience ruined because idiot techs think movies should be as loud as a Rush concert. I go to all the LA theaters -- arc light, grove, Americana, etc. -- and nothing like this has ever happened anywhere else. So mad. Never coming back.
Impressive IMAX experience, great sounds. Also pleasantly surprised at parking deal, $2 for 4 hours with movie validation. Great seats too.
